Organisation introduction

An international education bridge built for ambitious students

Global Study Consult (GSC) is an international education consultancy that guides students from application to arrival at universities abroad, with a specialist focus on higher education and scholarships in the People's Republic of China.

Global Study Consult exists for a single, practical reason: talented students lose access to world-class education not because they lack ability, but because they lack information. Every admission cycle, thousands of qualified candidates across Africa, South and Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East and Latin America miss scholarship deadlines they never heard about, submit documents in formats that universities cannot accept, or send applications to institutions that were never the right academic match in the first place. GSC was established to close that information gap with professional, verifiable, end-to-end guidance.

We describe ourselves as a bridge rather than an agency, and the distinction matters. An agency moves paperwork. A bridge carries a student from where they are — a final-year secondary school classroom, a graduating university cohort, a working professional's evening study plan — to where they intend to be: enrolled, funded, insured, housed and academically supported on a foreign campus. That journey has dozens of dependencies, and a failure in any one of them can cost a student an entire academic year. Our work is to hold all of those dependencies at once, so the student can concentrate on studying.

The organisation was founded by Mr. Michael Eziefula Uchenna, himself an international student at East China University of Technology and a recipient of the 2025 Principal Scholarship for Freshman together with the Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship. GSC therefore did not begin as a business plan drawn up at a distance from the student experience. It began inside it — in the visa queues, the document notarisation offices, the medical examination centres, the campus registration halls and the first difficult weeks of academic and cultural adaptation.

Today GSC supports students pursuing bachelor's, master's and doctoral study, and maintains a research database of more than 2,700 institutions across China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. Each institutional profile on our platform carries the university's official domain, city, founding year, institution type, academic strengths, degree levels, teaching languages, admission requirements and scholarship information, so that a student's shortlist is built on verifiable facts rather than on rumour and social-media screenshots.

We serve four distinct audiences, and we write for all of them. Students need clarity on eligibility, cost and timeline. Parents and sponsors need honesty about what is guaranteed, what is competitive and what a realistic outcome looks like. Universities and admission offices need complete, correctly formatted, verifiable candidate files that reduce their processing burden. Partner counsellors and referral networks need a professional standard they can put their own name behind. GSC is designed to satisfy all four at the same time, because an organisation that pleases only the student in the short term will fail that student in the long term.

Our operating principle is that international education is a regulated, document-driven, deadline-bound process — not a sales conversation. Where an outcome is uncertain, we say so in writing. Where a scholarship is highly competitive, we say how competitive. Where a student's profile is not yet strong enough for a chosen programme, we explain what must change and propose an alternative pathway with a realistic probability of success. That candour is the reason families return to us with younger siblings, and the reason universities continue to accept files that carry our documentation standard.

Our story & foundation

Founded by an international student, for international students

GSC grew out of one student's journey from Nigeria to a Chinese university campus — and out of everything that journey revealed about how avoidable most application failures really are.

The founding story of Global Study Consult starts in a secondary school classroom in Nigeria, where a student with strong results in Mathematics, Computer Studies, Physics, Chemistry and Economics discovered that academic ability was only the first requirement of studying abroad. The second requirement — reliable information — was far harder to obtain. Scholarship notices circulated as forwarded messages with no source. Application portals asked for documents nobody could explain. Self-described agents asked for large payments before any university had issued anything at all.

Michael Eziefula Uchenna navigated that landscape himself: identifying suitable institutions, understanding the difference between government, provincial and university scholarship schemes, preparing academic transcripts and notarised translations, completing the physical examination record, assembling a financial guarantee, sitting interviews, tracking a JW202 admission notice and then presenting a complete file at a visa appointment. He was admitted to East China University of Technology and awarded the 2025 Principal Scholarship for Freshman alongside the Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship.

What followed was more instructive than the admission itself. Once he was on campus, other students began asking for help — and their questions were remarkably consistent. Which universities teach my programme in English? Is this scholarship real? Why was my document rejected? How much money must I actually show? What happens between admission and visa? When do I book my flight? Who meets me at the airport? The same handful of solvable problems were, year after year, deciding whose life changed and whose did not.

That realisation became the organisation. Global Study Consult was established to convert one student's hard-won knowledge into a repeatable professional service: a verified institutional database instead of forwarded rumours, a mandatory document checklist per degree level instead of guesswork, a tracked application file instead of silence, and a named human being who answers when a family is worried.

The founder's technical training shaped the platform as much as his student experience shaped its ethics. CompTIA A+ certification training, a virtual assistant internship programme and digital marketing certification produced an organisation that treats its own systems as part of the service: a secure student portal, structured document storage, a staged status pipeline, automated status notifications and an internal review workflow. Guidance is the product; the technology exists so that guidance scales without losing accuracy.

GSC remains deliberately close to the student experience. Our counselling is informed by people who have personally completed the process they are advising on — who know what a Chinese university registration day looks like, what a dormitory costs, how a campus bank account is opened, how residence permits are processed and how long the first month of language adaptation really takes. That proximity is not nostalgia. It is a quality-control mechanism, and we intend to keep it as the organisation grows.

Mr. Michael Eziefula Uchenna, born 1 September 2004 in Nigeria, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Global Study Consult. He is an international student at East China University of Technology, a technologist trained in hardware and systems support, and an advocate for equitable access to international higher education.

His educational background combines a strong secondary foundation — WASSCE completed in 2022 with results across Mathematics, English, Computer Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Marketing and Geography — with professional certification in CompTIA A+, digital marketing and remote professional practice. That combination explains the shape of GSC: an education consultancy that builds its own systems instead of buying generic software.

His journey as an international student is the organisation's core asset. He researched institutions without institutional help, distinguished government from provincial and university scholarship schemes, prepared notarised academic records and medical documentation, assembled financial evidence, secured admission and funding, completed visa processing and then adapted to a new academic culture and language environment. Every stage of that experience is now encoded in a checklist, a portal field or a counselling script inside GSC.

At East China University of Technology he has continued to build the record that supports his leadership: the 2025 Principal Scholarship for Freshman, the Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship, recognition as Outstanding International Student of the Year by the Jiangxi Colleges Alliance for International Communication, Second Prize in the International School calligraphy competition, and service as an outstanding volunteer at university sporting and cultural events.

His leadership vision is deliberately unglamorous: build accurate systems, tell students the truth, and make excellence in guidance repeatable rather than exceptional. GSC's counsellors work to written standards, every application file is internally reviewed before submission, and every status change is communicated to the student rather than left to be discovered.

Our mission

Making international education accessible, transparent and achievable

To empower students worldwide by providing transparent, professional and reliable guidance toward achieving their international education goals.

Accessibility first. A student's access to international education should depend on academic potential and preparation, not on whether their family happens to know somebody who has done it before. We publish requirements openly, explain scholarship structures in plain language, and provide the same standard of professional guidance to a first-generation applicant as to a candidate from a well-connected school.

Suitability over volume. We match students to institutions and programmes on academic fit, teaching language, tuition and living cost, scholarship availability, city environment and long-term career intent. A prestigious name that a student cannot fund, cannot follow linguistically or cannot graduate from is a failure, not a placement. We would rather present three well-reasoned options than thirty impressive-sounding ones.

Transparency as a discipline. Every student receives a written checklist of required documents for their degree level, a realistic timeline with decision windows, and a clear statement of which outcomes are assured and which are competitive. Fees, where they apply, are stated before work begins. We do not promise admissions or scholarships that no consultancy is in a position to promise.

Continuity from application to arrival. Our responsibility does not end when an admission notice is issued. It continues through scholarship confirmation, visa preparation, pre-departure briefing, arrival logistics and the first weeks of settling in — because these are precisely the stages at which unsupported students most often lose a place they had already earned.

Our vision

A globally recognised platform for international academic mobility

To become a globally recognised education platform that connects students worldwide with universities, and strengthens academic relationships between countries.

Our long-term vision is an education ecosystem in which a student anywhere can research any recognised university in the world, understand exactly what is required of them, and submit a complete, credible application without needing to be physically present in the destination country or personally acquainted with anyone inside it.

That means continuing to widen our institutional research coverage beyond China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe into Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Türkiye, the Gulf states, Japan and Korea; deepening each institutional profile with programme-level detail, tuition data and scholarship cycles; and keeping every record traceable to an official source.

It also means investing continuously in the digital layer: a student portal that carries a candidate from enquiry to enrolment, structured document handling, staged status tracking, automated notification of every status change, and eventually AI-assisted guidance that helps a student narrow thousands of institutions to a realistic shortlist in minutes rather than months.

Finally, it means academic diplomacy in the ordinary sense of the phrase. Every student we place well becomes a durable link between two countries — a graduate who understands both systems, speaks more than one language, and is capable of building institutional relationships that outlast any single admission cycle. That, more than any commercial metric, is the outcome we are building toward.

Our core values

Five principles that govern how we advise

Trust

Confidence earned through verifiable transparency.

Trust in this industry has been damaged by operators who take payment and disappear. We rebuild it structurally: documented requirements, written timelines, traceable application status, named counsellors, and honest statements of probability. Students and sponsors can see the state of their file at any time through the student portal, and every status change is communicated rather than discovered.

Excellence

A professional standard in every document we submit.

Excellence is measured by the quality of what reaches an admission office: complete files, correct formats, accurate translations, coherent personal statements and academic records that need no clarification. We review each application internally against a degree-level checklist before submission, because a file that must be corrected by the university has already cost the student time and credibility.

Integrity

Honest guidance, including when the answer is no.

We do not fabricate documents, inflate grades, invent partnerships or guarantee outcomes we cannot control. Where a student is not yet competitive for a chosen programme or scholarship, we say so and propose a credible alternative or a preparation plan. A short-term disappointment handled honestly is better for a student than a long-term failure sold optimistically.

Student success

Outcomes, not applications, are the metric.

An application submitted is not a result. A student enrolled, funded, housed, insured and progressing academically is. We therefore stay involved through visa processing, arrival and the first weeks of adaptation, and we treat every withdrawal, deferral or academic difficulty as information that should improve how we advise the next candidate.

Global connection

Bridges between education systems and countries.

Each placement links two academic systems, two languages and two professional networks. We invest in that connection deliberately — maintaining relationships with institutions, supporting alumni who return home as professionals, and helping universities reach well-prepared candidates in regions they cannot easily visit.

Our services

End-to-end support across five service areas

University admissions

Selection, preparation, review and admission support.

  • University and programme selection based on academic profile, teaching language, budget, city and career intent — never on commission.
  • Application preparation including personal statements, study plans, recommendation strategy and CV structuring for academic audiences.
  • Internal document review against a degree-level checklist before anything reaches an admission office.
  • Submission management, follow-up with admission offices, response to requests for additional information, and tracking to final decision.

Scholarship applications

Government, provincial and university funding routes.

  • Government scholarship schemes, including national programmes and their eligibility, quota and deadline structures.
  • Provincial and municipal scholarships, which are frequently less contested than national schemes and often overlooked entirely.
  • University scholarships — full awards covering tuition, accommodation, stipend and insurance, and partial awards covering tuition in whole or in part.
  • Realistic assessment of competitiveness, plus a funded fallback plan so that a single scholarship decision never ends a student's year.

Documentation support

Academic, personal and legal documents, correctly prepared.

  • Degree-level checklists covering passport, photographs, transcripts, certificates, physical examination records, non-criminal records and financial evidence.
  • Guidance on certified translation and notarisation, including which documents require which level of authentication.
  • Academic document preparation: transcript formats, grading explanations, degree verification and, where applicable, thesis and research summaries.
  • Visa documentation assembly, including admission notice, JW forms, financial guarantee and supporting correspondence.

Visa guidance

Student visa preparation, from checklist to appointment.

  • Explanation of the applicable student visa category and the exact documents each embassy or consulate expects.
  • Preparation of the visa file, cross-checked against the admission notice and scholarship documentation before submission.
  • Interview and appointment preparation, including likely questions on funding, programme choice and post-study intent.
  • Support if additional documents are requested, and contingency planning around appointment availability and semester start dates.

Pre-departure assistance

Everything between the visa and the first lecture.

  • Accommodation guidance: on-campus dormitory application, realistic off-campus costs and what to arrange before travelling.
  • Travel and airport guidance, including routing, baggage planning, arrival documentation and campus registration deadlines.
  • Arrival support: registration, residence permit, medical check, campus bank account, SIM card and essential local applications.
  • Student readiness briefing on academic culture, language adaptation, budgeting, health insurance and staying compliant with study regulations.

University partnership network

Collaboration channels across four study destinations

We describe our institutional relationships accurately. Where a formal agreement exists it is identified as a verified partnership on the institution's profile; everywhere else we use the honest language of university collaboration channels and admission cooperation networks. We do not claim official partnerships we cannot evidence, and we would rather lose a sale than misrepresent a relationship.

Our academic collaboration is practical: understanding each institution's entry requirements and documentation standards, presenting candidate files in the format that admission offices actually process, and giving universities dependable, well-prepared applicants from regions they cannot easily recruit in person.

Our student placement support continues after the decision. We follow scholarship confirmation, visa processing and enrolment, and we stay reachable during the first semester so that neither the student nor the institution is left managing a problem alone.

China

China is our area of deepest specialisation. Our research database covers 1,000 Chinese institutions across every province, with admission cooperation channels focused on universities offering English-taught and Chinese-taught degrees supported by government, provincial and university scholarship schemes.

  • Bachelor's, master's and doctoral admission cycles
  • Chinese Government, provincial and university scholarships
  • Chinese-language foundation and preparatory pathways

United States

Our United States coverage spans 1,400 institutions, from research universities to liberal-arts colleges and state systems. Guidance focuses on programme fit, standardised-testing requirements, financial documentation and the realities of need-aware admission.

  • Undergraduate and graduate application strategy
  • Funding, assistantship and aid documentation
  • Programme-level accreditation and outcome checks

United Kingdom

We maintain profiles for 301 United Kingdom institutions, including universities and further-education colleges. Our work concentrates on entry-requirement mapping, personal statements and the compressed UK admission calendar.

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate taught routes
  • Entry-requirement and qualification equivalence
  • Sponsorship and financial-evidence preparation

Europe

Our European coverage includes 60 institutions across 18 countries, with particular attention to publicly funded systems offering low or no tuition and to English-taught master's programmes.

  • Low-tuition and publicly funded systems
  • English-taught bachelor's and master's degrees
  • Country-specific documentation and residence rules
